Although I am involved in Research Science, much of my interest is in education and infrastructure for education. I would like to have a positive influence on building research capacity in Ireland, but also have a positive impact on individuals who I work with.

Ultimately, i would love to make a discovery that leads to a real change in how patients are treated (either a new drug or a discovering a new way that allows patients to have better treatment).
I would also like to think that the students i’ve trained will go on to make a real difference in their professional areas and be successful.

I would like to improve how patients with rare diseases are diagnosed and treated. I would lie to see more genetic testing happening all over Ireland and for it to become easier and more common for people to be sent for genetic tests from their doctors.
