      Well im not sure about all fungi but I can tell you a bit about the fungus Im working on…

      Cryptococcus neoformans is pretty important and infections are more common then we’d like them to be! It has one of the highest mortality rates for all pathogenic fungi !

      Cryptococcus neoformans is a soil-dwelling fungus which causes causes Cryptococcal meningitis, which is a deadly brain infection

      Worldwide, nearly 220,000 new cases of cryptococcal meningitis occur each year, resulting in 181,000 deaths!! Thats nearly the entire population of cork dying every year because of this fungus! Its a massive problem !
