      There are lots of common diseases which are partially caused by our genetics, but also by our environment; how good our diet is and how often we exercise for example. There are lots of rare diseases like cystic fibrosis which are more common in Ireland than in other countries. Cystic fibrosis is caused by mutations like the delta F508 deletion in the CFTR gene and can be passed down through families.
