• Question: My grand dad has had three strokes in the last few years and is not capable of anything other than shouting he seems to remember certain people but not much else, Is there any research going into the restoration of memories for stroke victims in particular?

I am afraid I don’t know of any. A stroke is a result of lack of oxygen to the brain, which causes parts of the brain to die. The cells somehow store the memory, so it would be a question of bringing the cells back to life somehow!
