As Katie says, there are many cures, but the likelihood of success depends on how early the cancer is diagnosed, and detected, which is why it is important to develop diagnosis techniques which can detect as early as possible. Routine screening is also very important.

Cancer is really a collection of different types- think cars- you have different brand and each brand has different models, they are all slightly different (different brands and models would a different cancer).

While they sometimes you can use a treatment that works on type, it probably wont work on all. so we are really getting much better at finding new treatments for the different types- some are harder than others to treat.
i’d like to think that one day we can turn it from a disease that kills to just another disease (and for some times that is already happening but there are so many more that need new treatments).
