      You inherited half of your DNA from your Mum and the other half from your Dad. This DNA contains sections called ‘genes’ which are instructions for making proteins. Changes to these genes called ‘mutations’ are passed down from generation to generation in the DNA and these mutations are the cause of many inheritable diseases!
